Happy 4th of July!

This is what we had for dessert today after our chicken barbecue, deliciously made and beautifully decorated by good friend Bonnie:

We had a lovely time celebrating our nation's independence with great friends. My decorations consisted of two flags stuck into flower pots on either side of our front door, but look at these fantastic decorations by Debra of Common Ground:

By the way, if you go to the end of Debra's post, you'll see--at this writing--139 other bloggers who are joining Debra's Vintage Patriotic Party featuring 4th of July decorations--pretty amazing! (Got a few hours to check these out?)

Then there's Courtney's Grand Old Flag at French Country Cottage:

And Nancy's imaginative door decoration at Nancy's Daily Dish:

And Lidy's 4th of July in My Garden at French Garden House:

(Be sure and check out her Oatmeal Pancakes recipe as well, along with her gorgeous garden shots.)

Finally--and I could go on for a long time with great 4th of July posts from vintage-loving bloggers--there's this 4th of July flag-flying house decoration from Jess at Scarlet Begonia Vintage:

Jess was also kind enough to feature my Vintage Yelloware Bowl on this blog post, about How to Get the Look Decor: Patriotic Living.

Happy 4th of July to all ~ and may God bless America!
