Collecting Cast Iron

Every day I use cast iron pans in my cooking. Couldn't do without them.
Collecting vintage cast iron has become increasingly popular in the last few years. Not only are cast iron pans and other cooking utensils handy in the kitchen, but they're also wonderfully decorative when displayed on the wall.

(The photo above is from a blog called The Country Farm Home and featured on my Pinterest board  Cast Iron Collectibles.)

Some people are looking for cast iron made by companies such as Griswold, which was founded in 1865; Vollrath, 1874; Wagner Ware, 1881; Favorite Stove and Range, 1887; Atlanta Stove Works, 1889; Lodge, 1896; Wapak, 1903; Le Creuset, 1925; or Krampouz, 1949.

Personally, I just like the way it looks and feels and, especially, the way it cooks my food.

Amazingly, you can find vintage cast iron with a certain rare mark for as much as $999 from online sellers.
That's a little out of my price range, however.

On Etsy, a rusty cast iron skillet might run you $28, such as this one from Goshen Pickers:
Or this unusual baking pan from Rustic Buckets for $35:
And then, of course, I have some in my shop (the top two pictures; the third one, a popover pan, has been sold): a cast iron pancake or plett pan from the 1930s for $26, and an antique French roll pan from the 1910s for $45.

But I'm always keeping my eyes open for more, so head over to my shop and see if I've listed any others. If you read this before August 30 to September 3, 2018, everything in my shop will be discounted 15%.

And if you're too late for that, head on over and get 10% off anything with the coupon code 10EITHERORFINDS at checkout just for reading all this way!

  2. Cast iron pan fan here too.

Two of my cast iron pans are from my grandparents and one from my mother. If I could only have one pan in my possession it would be a cast iron one.
